Neat antique wooden foundry mold from the long defunct Swett Iron Works in Medina, New York. This mold was used in the manufacture of cast iron manhole covers. Has the company's name embossed in the center. Wood construction with an aluminum frame on the underside. Wood treads. Used for making sand molds. Measures 21 3/4 inches wide. Nice condition with no major damage. Shows some age and wear to the original paint and is missing one section of the wood rim underside edge as pictured. Great rare industrial piece, would make a nice accent or could be used to make a coffee table or other repurposed furniture.
