Before Times Shop is on Threads

Recently the social media app Threads rolled out a desktop version, which allows us to quickly add new products announcements as we list them. You can find us on Threads at: https://www.threads.net/@beforetimesshop

We will no longer be posting new products to Twitter. After 15 years of posting new products to Twitter in virtually the same exact way, we were banned for policy violations. What violations? Who knows. Twitter, now X, simply sent a message with a link to their rules after locking our account. When we asked about the reason, we received an email response with another link to the policy page. Now when we log in to X, there is text and links all over the page about becoming verified to get the account back. Sorry, we're not going to give a billionaire, who destroyed Twitter, $8 a month to post there.

So, check us out on threads. And if you haven't tried Threads, below is an explanation provided by our primitive AI overlord about why Threads is better anyway. (Yes, the same AI will provide an equally convincing argument for why X is better if you ask, oh well)...

Threads vs. X: Why Threads Holds the Edge

In the realm of microblogging platforms, X (formerly Twitter) and Threads have emerged as prominent players, each offering a unique approach to social media engagement. While both platforms share similarities, a closer examination reveals distinct advantages that position Threads as the superior choice for users seeking a more engaging, user-friendly, and community-driven experience.

Longer Messages for Deeper Discussions

X's signature 280-character limit has long been a source of frustration for users seeking to express nuanced thoughts or engage in in-depth discussions. Threads, on the other hand, breaks free from this constraint, allowing users to craft posts of up to 500 characters. This extended length facilitates more comprehensive content, enabling users to delve into complex topics, share detailed narratives, and foster meaningful conversations.

Ad-Free Environment for Uninterrupted Engagement

In the digital landscape, advertisements have become an unwelcome intrusion, disrupting the user experience and often overshadowing the content itself. X's reliance on advertising can be jarring and detracts from the platform's core purpose of fostering communication and connection. Threads, in contrast, stands apart by providing an ad-free environment, ensuring that users remain focused on the content and interactions that matter most.

Community-Focused Approach for Meaningful Connections

At its core, social media is about fostering connections and building communities. Threads recognizes this fundamental principle by prioritizing community-centric features and fostering a welcoming environment for its users. The platform's emphasis on group threads, where users can connect with like-minded individuals around shared interests, strengthens the sense of belonging and encourages meaningful interactions.

Meta Integration for Seamless User Experience

Threads' integration with Meta's suite of social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook, streamlines the user experience and expands the platform's reach. Users can seamlessly share their Threads posts across these platforms, amplifying their content's visibility and engaging with a wider audience.

A Platform for the Future of Social Media

Threads' innovative approach to microblogging, coupled with its commitment to user experience and community engagement, positions it as a frontrunner in the ever-evolving social media landscape. By breaking free from the constraints of X's 280-character limit and embracing an ad-free, community-driven environment, Threads offers a refreshing alternative that caters to the needs of modern social media users. As the platform continues to grow and evolve, it is poised to redefine the microblogging experience and set a new standard for meaningful social interactions.
