This is an odd estate found personal journal or diary of some sort, that appears to date from around the turn of the century. It is hand-written in a lined notebook with a very rough leather cover. Found wrapped in a plastic homemade dust jacket as pictured. It has over 200 pages with the vast majority of the info being hand written, although there are some clippings pasted into the book in places. The book was found in northwestern Pennsylvania and the origins and author are unknown, though detailed research might be able to reveal more details.
Rather than being a diary that details daily activities, it seems to be more of a guide book written by the author that is full of quotes and ideas about how life should be lived. It includes some instructions on conversations and decorum as well as personal reminders. There is a multi-page hand-written index in the back. Book has old repairs and heavy wear. It appears that it was referenced repeatedly by the author and others over the years. Over 200 pages, measures about 7 1/2 inches tall.
