Antique sticking tommy type coal miner's lamp that used a candle for light. The candle holder allows slightly different sizes of candles to be used. These type of lights were driven into timbers in the mine while working and could be carried by the miner via the hook mounted to the miner's cap or hat. This old mining candle holder was found in a collection from Western Pennsylvania. It is unsigned, exact age and maker is unknown. Candle pictured is not included. Measures about 5 3/4 inches long. Very good condition with no damage, shows some surface and finish wear and some surface wear as pictured.
