Signed Allerton Staffordshire figure of a man standing on a pedestal. We're not exactly sure what this is. It was found in an estate with hatpins sticking out of the holes in his cap. They were the shorter kind of pins. The angling of the holes and shape of the figure prevent long pins from being able to be inserted fully. There is a small hole in the bottom, but the hole is glazed over and looks to have never been open for filling as a pepper or pounce shaker. Signed on the bottom. Very nice condition with no chips or damage. Has only a couple of small spots of wear to the paint. Measures just over 5 inches tall.
