This is some type of old carved stone Chinese chop with the name "Sam Holmes" carved into the end as a stamp. Probably soapstone. Found in original box. Probably personalized and purchased in China on a trip. Unsigned, artist unknown. Appears to be a carving of two dragons or serpents....see pics for a better idea of the style and condition. Nice condition with no damage or mentionable wear. Measures about 4 5/8 inches tall. Nice old carved chop to add to your collection or décor...especially if your name is Sam Holmes.
