Vintage handmade sticking tommy type coal miner's lamp that used a candle for light. This light is made from hexagonal metal stock that is twisted around to form the candleholder. These type of lights were driven into timbers in the mine while working and could be carried by the miner via the hook mounted to the miner's cap or hat. This old mining candle holder was found in a collection from Western Pennsylvania. It is unsigned, exact age and maker is unknown. Candle pictured is not included. Measures about 10 3/8 inches long. Very good condition with no damage, shows some surface and finish wear and some light tarnish as pictured.
