This is a vintage ceramic figure of a nude reclining native with hand-painted flower skirt from Gilner's Happy Cannibals series. The figure has hand-painted accents and metal earrings.
This figure was found in the estate of a prominent African American educator who was compiling Black Americana and Black Memorabilia items for a museum prior to her death. Novelty souvenirs such as this one were not always made in the region that they were sold, where this one was made is unknown.
