Vintage 1946 political campaign stuffed felt Democratic donkey mascot for Charles R. Wilson's run for U.S. Congress (New York 37th District). Maker is unmarked / unknown. Constructed from two-tone gray and yellow-gold felt with a black neck ribbon, yarn mane and tail, rolling googly eyes, and printed saddle flaps reading "WILSON for CONGRESS" on both sides. Sourced from Western New York, representing a scarce post-WWII grassroots campaign favor from the 1946 midterms. Clean condition with tight seams, vibrant felt color, and light authentic age spotting on the face. A wonderful piece of historical Upstate New York political Americana!
