Product Overview
Authentic antique 1920s Art Deco letterpress advertising printing block manufactured for Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company ("Standard" Plumbing Fixtures). This original commercial print shop cut features a round vignette copper halftone engraving depicting an elegant 1920s flapper seated on a dressing stool putting on her stockings inside a well-appointed vintage bathroom. The scene highlights period fixtures including a stately pedestal lavatory sink, mirror, lighting sconce, window drapery, and tiled walls, crowned by the classic script "Standard" Plumbing Fixtures logo across the top and stamped with production cut number "P 2441" in the lower border.
Firmly mounted with original pins to a solid hardwood block, the plate exhibits sharp, well-preserved halftone relief with excellent contrast and crisp dot-matrix detail retention. An exceptional survivor of early 20th-century graphic design, typography, and plumbing trade advertising, making it a fantastic display piece for print collectors or period bathroom decor. In excellent antique condition with light, honest age-related surface patina and a clean, flat, undamaged printing face.
