This is an original antique copper electrotype / letterpress advertising printing plate (c. 1910s-1920s) for the Universal Food Chopper No. 2, manufactured by Landers, Frary & Clark.
Crafted as a solid copper relief plate with a lead backing for newspaper and circular print advertising, the plate features a detailed engraved cut of a table-mounted Universal meat/food chopper discharging into a mixing bowl. The reversed promotional text reads: "SPECIAL OFFER - 75¢ ALLOWANCE for Your Old FOOD CHOPPER, CHOPPING BOWL or MINCING KNIFE toward the purchase of a New UNIVERSAL Food Chopper No. 2 - 10 DAYS ONLY", accompanied by the manufacturer's hallmark sales points "The Original Food Chopper / Self-Cleaning / Self-Sharpening", and an open lower slug mortise reading "DEALER'S NAME".
Condition is very good antique with crisp, sharp typographic and illustration relief lines, a solid metal plate, and attractive copper patina with minor oxidation spotting in the lower corner.
