Product Overview

This vintage piece is an antique 1930s Loose-Wiles Biscuit Company lithographed tin, manufactured for their "Assorted Biscuits" line.

The tin features a distinct octagonal shape. The lid showcases a detailed, colorful lithograph illustration of the battleship U.S.S. Idaho cutting through rough green ocean waters under a partly cloudy blue sky. The rim of the lid is decorated with a nautical blue band featuring white five-pointed stars intertwined with gold rope detailing.

The sides of the tin feature a continuous panoramic gallery of various historical US Navy vessels, each clearly labeled at the bottom edge. Visible ships include the U.S.S. Dunlap, U.S.S. Arizona, U.S.S. Raleigh, U.S.S. Chicago, U.S.S. Guam, and U.S.S. Narwahl.

The gold-tone metal bottom is clearly stamped with the manufacturing text: "ASSORTED BISCUITS / NET WEIGHT 2 LBS. 8 OZS. / LOOSE-WILES BISCUIT COMPANY / BAKERS OF SUNSHINE BISCUITS / ADDRESS: NEW YORK, N.Y. / MADE IN U.S.A." The piece shows minor scratching, small paint flakes, and light surface oxidation consistent with its age, but the graphic lithography remains remarkably bright and sharp.

Condition: Very good condition , shows some age and light surface wear and is missing the tin handle as pictured. Please refer to the multiple photos to better help determine the condition. You will receive the exact tin that is pictured.

Size: Measures about 9 1/2 inches wide.
