Add a charming, highly collectible crossover piece of mid-century advertising and classic storybook memorabilia to your collection with this vintage 1950s "The Wizard of Oz Pail" lithographed tin, manufactured by American Can Company (marked CANCO) for Swift & Company. Originally packaged with Swift's Oz Brand Peanut Butter and cleverly designed to be reused as a children's sand pail or toy bucket, this two-tone yellow and red tin litho bucket features a wire bail carry handle fitted with its original wood turning grip. The wrap-around graphics showcase iconic storybook characters and scenes, including Dorothy in her gingham dress building sandcastles, the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, the Emerald City castle towers, and the Yellow Brick Road. Marked "© S. & Co." and "CANCO" along the lower rim. In good vintage condition with bright graphic appeal, displaying authentic age wear including scattered surface scratches, rim paint loss, minor surface oxidation, and interior darkening consistent with genuine vintage use. Note: Does not include the original slip-on tin lid.
