Preserve a piece of turn-of-the-century local history with this antique Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) covered vanity puff box / dresser trinket jar. The clear pressed glass base features embossed foliate and scroll motifs with gold-gilt highlights, while the fitted glass lid boasts deep, brilliant ruby stained flashing with ornate embossed shell and scroll borders. Hand-engraved in period script across the lid is "Souvenir of Grand Valley, PA." (Warren County, Pennsylvania). Unmarked by maker, as is typical of turn-of-the-century American pressed glass houses producing Victorian carnival and resort souvenir wares. In very good antique condition with rich, vibrant ruby stain and clear lettering, exhibiting expected age wear including gold loss, minor surface straw marks, and tiny flea bites along the inner ground rim edges.
