Product Overview
An authentic vintage Byzantine-style Eastern Orthodox Christian devotional icon plaque depicting Jesus Christ (Christ Pantocrator / the Mandylion). Rendered in detailed high-relief silver-toned repoussé metalwork, the portrait features Christ with an inscribed halo and traditional Greek "IC XC" monograms, framed by a deeply embossed grapevine and botanical scrollwork border. The metal casing is neatly pinned over a solid base backed in rich dark green velvet and fitted with an upper triangular wire hanging loop for wall display or prayer corner placement. In very good vintage condition with sharp casting definition, an attractive aged patina highlighting the recesses, and a clean, intact velvet back. Unsigned, maker unknown.
