Vintage 1960s-1970s L.E. Smith mid-century art glass pedestal compote / candy dish in the iconic Bittersweet line. Features an optic petal-fluted body opening into a deep, dramatic handkerchief crimped ruffled rim atop a scalloped pedestal foot. The reactive slag glass transitions beautifully from rich, fiery tomato orange at the upper folds down to warm, marbled butterscotch and milky apricot at the base. Excellent vintage condition with luminous gloss and smooth ruffles free of chips, cracks, or fleabites. Has some cadmium content and fluoresces under 365 nm black light.
