Product Overview
This is a mid-century vintage Order of the Eastern Star (OES) ceramic vase / planter (c. 1950s-1960s). Made in Japan for the Masonic fraternal supplier F. N. Kistner Co. as part of their "Temple Treasures" line, this vessel is molded in the shape of the iconic OES five-pointed star sitting atop a scrollwork base.
The face of the star features hand-painted pastel points (pink, blue, yellow, green, white) representing the heroines of the Order, trimmed in gold gilt, surrounding a central altar with the letters "OES" and "FATAL". The base bears black stamped text reading "TEMPLE TREASURES by F. N. KISTNER CO. copyrighted 50214" alongside a red oval "MADE IN JAPAN" foil label. The vase stands approximately 5 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide. Condition is very good vintage with clean glaze, intact gold accents, and no chips or cracks, displaying fine, light, natural age crazing throughout.
