Mid-century Oregon Myrtlewood pedestal compote bowl, masterfully hand-turned from a single solid block of native Pacific Northwest Myrtlewood. Features an angled, wide shallow flared basin elevated on an integral turned pedestal base, showcasing spectacular figure including curly fiddleback chatoyancy, swirled burled eyes, and natural dark knot inclusions beneath a glossy protective lacquer finish. Underside of the base retains the original vintage foil label from "Montana's Myrtlewood Shop / Coast Highway / Bandon, Ore." alongside the traditional verse commemorating the craft. Excellent vintage condition with glossy, smooth surfaces, structurally sound wood free of splits or warps, and minimal age wear.
