Product Overview
Antique / vintage hand-worked slag glass end-of-day whimsical flower vase / single stem bud holder. The piece is unsigned; maker unknown, but likely produced by early American glasshouse artisans (such as Akro Agate, McKee, or West Virginia glassworkers) as an end-of-day "frigger" or whimsical dump piece. Formed from swirling opaque white and clear slag cullet glass into a heavy, beehive / soft-serve swirl form with a central top cavity to hold a flower stem, pencil, or pen. In very good vintage condition with minor surface ash inclusions typical of hand-worked glasshouse whimsical pieces.
