This is an original vintage Jamaican Wassi Art studio pottery vase, hand-painted and signed on the base by the artist Asher.
Originating from the renowned Wassi Art studio in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, this piece features a highly detailed, vibrant optical basketweave pattern hand-painted in rich tones of terracotta orange, deep brown, and cerulean blue over a cream glaze. The flared funnel-shaped neck is decorated with horizontal stripes and finished with a bold, cobalt blue trimmed rim that matches the base. It features a brilliant high-gloss glazed finish contrasting against the raw unglazed clay bottom. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, or crazing.
