Antique Victorian molded vulcanite / gutta-percha floral mourning brooch, circa 1870s-1880s. Crafted in an oval silhouette with a polished beveled rim, centering an intricate, deeply undercut high-relief botanical bouquet of blooming roses, morning glories, and daisies against a finely stippled ground. The reverse features an authentic period extended steel pin stem set into an embedded brass tube hinge and securing with an open "C" catch. Excellent antique condition with crisp relief details, smooth beveled edges free of chips or flakes, and sturdy, functioning hardware.
