Product Overview
This is an authentic vintage Stratton "Princess" shape scalloped powder compact (c. 1950s-1960s), made in Birmingham, England.
The lid features an ornate enameled design with a floral bouquet center medallion framed by a cobalt blue textured border with cartouche flower reserves and gold scroll detailing. The base is crafted from gold-tone brass with engine-turned diagonal reeding and features Stratton's signature "Compact-in-Hand" inner lid logo with an automatic opening mechanism.
Inside, the compact retains its original clear beveled mirror, inner spring-loaded powder door, and original sifter screen. Measures approximately 3 inches across. Condition is good vintage; all hinges, latches, and the inner lid mechanism function smoothly. The enamel lid shows authentic vintage character with age-appropriate micro-crazing and scattered paint loss spots to the right of the floral bouquet, alongside light surface patina on the brass base.
