Antique 1890s "The 20th Century" nickel-plated brass bicycle kerosene oil headlamp / lantern. Features a wide parabolic front reflector, red ruby side jewel windows, top vented chimney cap, and the original spring-dampened "This Side Top" bracket mount clamp. Underside of font is stamped with worldwide patent dates including June 4, 1895, and design patent May 28, 1895. Displays in solid original condition with handsome honest patina, brassing, intact wick burner, and side glass, though it lacks the front clear magnifying lens and the one side glass panel door as pictured.
