This is an antique American-made brass whistle with worn nickel plating, featuring a "snail" or bell-shaped design. It was manufactured by the Bridgeport Gun Implement Company (B.G.I. Co.) in Bridgeport, Connecticut, between 1878 and 1908. The rear of the sound chamber is embossed in three lines with the text: "B.G.I. Co.", "ECHO" (the model name), and the pattern number "620". A split ring is attached to the rear. The whistle shows advanced condition issues, with generalize wear, extensive plating loss, pitting, and heavy surface corrosion and tarnish consistent with authentic field use and long-term weathering.
