Original antique 1920s-1930s Hubley Manufacturing Co. painted cast iron figurine depicting a caricature braying, laughing donkey (or mule). Solidly cast with expressive sculptural detail, featuring outstretched flared ears, a widely gaping mouth with an original painted red tongue, and a seated stance. Retains its authentic early original polychrome cold-painted finish in shades of tan, brown, black, and cream over heavy textured iron with an unfinished flat underside. Very good antique condition showing authentic paint loss, chipping, and honest age patina, completely free of cracks, breaks, or repairs.
