Product Overview
This is an antique tin carbide container/can used for holding calcium carbide, typically for miner's lamps, bicycle lamps, or early automobile headlights. Stamped "MADE IN U.S.A." near the bottom, the tin features an embossed geometric pattern with a circular center on the front and back, alongside a sliding top lid designed for easy pouring and secure storage. It features a heavy vintage rust and oxidized patina throughout, making for a great piece of early industrial, mining history. Measures 4 1/2 inches tall. The lid slides smoothly.
