This is an antique wooden handled round sash / stippling paint brush (c. early 20th century). This primitive hand tool features a long, turned solid wood handle tapering down to a thick, bound round wooden ferrule head block.
The heavy, coarse natural animal hair bristles are tightly secured into the head block, showing a significant sweeping curve from years of repetitive circular motion and use. The brush measures approximately 12 1/4 inches long overal. Condition is primitive and rustic; the wooden handle shows heavy wear, old paint splatters, dried cracking to the ferrule wrapping, and the bristles are permanently bent/curved and some are missing from historical use.
