Product Overview
This is an authentic antique R.S. Prussia porcelain chamberstick / candle holder dish (c. 1890s-1910s). Produced by the Reinhold Schlegelmilch porcelain factory in Suhl, Prussia (Germany), this Victorian-era piece features a ruffled, scalloped catch basin decorated with hand-painted floral sprays of purple and pink hydrangeas/lilacs against a soft cream, yellow, and blush-pink shaded background.
The central candlestick socket is flanked by two arched, scrollwork double-loop handles accented with distressed gold gilt trim. The underside of the star-shaped foot rim bears the iconic red and green "R.S. Prussia" red-mark wreath stamp. The chamberstick measures approximately 4 3/4 inches long. Condition is very good antique with no chips, cracks, or repairs, displaying expected light gilt rubbing and minor wax residue inside the candle well.
