Product Overview
Add scholarly elegance to your Asian art or desktop collection with this vintage hand-carved Chinese soapstone (shoushan stone) seal chop. Finely sculpted from warm honey-caramel soapstone with natural mineral veining, the top surmount finial depicts a detailed standing elephant with curled trunk, textured hide, and flopped ears. The sides feature crisp incised Chinese characters with white pigment infill: "大福" (Great Fortune / Blessings), "勢力氣" (Power, Strength & Vital Energy), and "硯印" (Inkstone Seal). The base displays an authentic hand-carved seal script face. In very good vintage condition with sharp carving detail, minor fleabites along the high edges, and a rich, silky hand-feel.
