Antique stoneware lid with molded handle in the center that was made for use with a 2 gallon stoneware crock. Made by Hawthorn Pottery in Hawthorn, Pennsylvania. The lid is marked with a "2" that has the Hawthorne arrow on one side. The mark is smudged and there are drips of cobalt blue all over the lid. Probably a factory reject that made its way out. The lid does have some chipping to the rim as pictured and there is some crazing and a hairline on the underside as pictured. The lid measures 9 1/4 inches wide with the bottom lip ring measuring about 7 inches across. Refer to the photos for a better idea of the condition, you will receive the exact crock lid that is pictured.
