Antique primitive turned hardwood pestle or masher, late 19th to early 20th century. Lathe-turned from a single solid piece of dense wood, featuring an elongated baluster-turned handle with an integral rounded pommel finial tapering down to a bulbous, flat-bottomed cylindrical working head. Displays rich, authentic age patina with deep wood grain, natural seasoning checks and drying cracks along the mallet head, honest bruising, and smooth handling wear from decades of utilitarian farm and kitchen use. Structurally solid primitive country treen display piece.
