Product Overview
Vintage mid-century Japanese porcelain salt and pepper shakers modeled as playful baby boy musicians, heavily inspired by traditional Gosho Ningyo dolls. Each seated figure wears an animal hood topped with a sculpted cat or dog head, tied with a decorative bib (one in iron-red and one in sunny yellow) accented with Moriage enamel beading. Both hold a raised drumstick and a handheld drum marked with an "S" for salt. The undersides are stamped in red with "JAPAN" and retain their original wooden cork stoppers. Excellent vintage condition with crisp, hand-painted facial features, vivid cold paint and glaze, intact drumsticks, and no chips, cracks, or repairs.
