Product Overview
This is a vintage Japanese mid-century ceramic tabletop lighter (c. 1950s-1960s). Crafted in an organic, donut-style hollow form with an integrated side pass-through handle, the ceramic body is finished in a metallic ruby-red glaze. It features silver-and-gold hand-painted Japanese motifs including Mount Fuji with birds and a sailboat on the front, alongside stylized pine trees (matsu) on the reverse.
The top houses a removable chrome-plated metal fluid cigarette lighter insert with a classic mechanical lever action. The piece stands approximately 3 3/4 inches tall. Condition is very good vintage; the ceramic base is solid with clean glaze and clear graphics, while the chrome lighter insert shows light surface patina and requires fresh fluid/flint for operational use.
Condition: Cosmetic condition is as pictured. Lighter is in as-found condition and may need a new flint, wheel, wick, fluid, etc. in order to be operational. Lighter is offered as-found and has not been refurbished. Refer to the photos for a better idea of the style and condition and what all packaging is included, you will receive the exact lighter that is pictured.
