A vintage obsolete Pennsylvania Police cap or hat badge crafted in nickel-plated brass, manufactured by renowned maker S.H. Reese (57 Warren St., New York, N.Y.). Highly detailed cut-out design featuring the Pennsylvania State Coat of Arms with a prominent American eagle crest, flanking draft horses, ship, plow, and sheaves of wheat over the state motto ribbon "Virtue, Liberty, Independence". Lower panel displays bold raised "POLICE" lettering against a textured stipple ground. Reverse features the original threaded screw post with circular S.H. Reese maker-marked retaining nut. In excellent vintage condition with sharp stamping, rich natural patina, and minor authentic service wear.
