This is an authentic vintage West German papier-mâché Easter candy container egg accompanied by a small novelty spun cotton/chenille Easter chick toy. Manufactured in West Germany (as stamped on the interior lining), the nested two-piece fillable egg features a colorful lithographed illustration depicting a traditional Easter bunny dressing a large duck next to painted Easter eggs.
The interior is lined with a classic red/purple floral vine paper design over the cardboard base. The accompanying miniature decorative chick is crafted with a spun fiber body, soft yellow feather wings/tail, a small plastic beak, and orange composition feet. Egg measures just under 3 1/2 inches long. Condition is very good, showing tight seams, minor edge scuffing along the rim, and clean interior details.
