This is a large antique The Globe Soap Co. hinged advertising tin chest (c. 1910s-1920s). Produced as a promotional premium by The Globe Soap Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, this large metallic storage chest features vibrant tropical island landscape lithography depicting palm trees along a ocean coastline against a bold yellow sky.
The hinged lid, front, and side panels are framed in metallic brass/gold faux-carved trim, featuring a front metal push-latch clasp. The interior is finished in a bright gold lacquer with a fine scrollwork damask pattern. The bottom exterior is clearly stamped with the manufacturer mark reading "THE GLOBE SOAP CO. CINCINNATI, OHIO." Condition is very good antique; the interior gold flash wash is exceptionally clean and bright, while the exterior displays authentic age patina, light surface scratching, and minor litho wear along the top lid borders.
