Product Overview
This is a vintage Milady "Toffee of Quality" rectangular advertising confectionery tin (c. 1930s-1950s), manufactured by Walter & Hartley Ltd. in Blackpool, England.
The lid features a charming, lithographed pastoral illustration titled "Country Life in England", depicting horses pulling a hay wagon past thatched-roof country cottages with figures and a herding dog in the foreground. The sides are finished in a light robin's egg blue with ornate gold-gilt filigree borders and the classic "Milady" brand typography.
Condition is good vintage; the tin shows an authentic aged character with surface scratching, lithograph paint loss along the rim edges, and scattered oxidation/rust spotting mainly concentrated around the lid seams and corners. The interior and base show typical gray oxidation and light metal discoloration but remain structurally sound with working hinges. Measures approximately 9 1/2 inches long.
