Vintage Royal Doulton miniature character jug titled "Gaoler" (D6544), designed by Max Henk as part of the Character Jugs from Williamsburg series. Issued between 1963 and 1983, this piece depicts an 18th-century colonial jailer in a black tricorn hat and rust-red coat, with a large iron key forming the handle and "Gaoler" molded on the reverse shoulder. Fully hallmarked on the underside with the Royal Doulton lion and crown backstamp, 1962 copyright, and registered design numbers. Excellent vintage condition with a rich, glossy glaze and bright hand-painted details, free of chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs.
