Product Overview
This is an authentic vintage 1973 limited-edition Christmas collector plate, crafted in rich cranberry / ruby-flashed glass and decorated in the traditional Mary Gregory style. The front features hand-painted white enamel decoration depicting a Victorian-style boy and girl decorating a Christmas tree surrounded by pine trees, framed with a white scroll border along the rim.
The plate is unsigned. Attributed widely online to Fenton.....also to Westmoreland.....also as being of Bohemian origin.....so, we really have no idea, but it's a pretty unsigned plate nonetheless. Measures about 8 inches wide.
The plate bears hand-painted white enamel inscriptions reading "Christmas 1973" at the top and "602. 1973" at the bottom, designating its limited edition / mold number. The reverse reveals the reverse-painted/enameled technique against smooth, high-clarity red glass. Condition is very clean with crisp enamel application, vibrant glass color, and no chips or cracks.
