Product Overview

Original late 19th-century Victorian die-cut double trade card advertising "Rising Sun Stove Polish" (Morse Bros., Canton, Mass.). Features vibrant dual-panel color chromolithograph caricatures titled with dialect slogans: the upper panel shows a smoke-filled room with characters fleeing smelly paste polish ("See here Pompey..."), while the lower scene displays a mirror shine on the parlor stove ("I say Snow Flake, dat stove was blacked with Rising Sun..."). The reverse features promotional packaging text alongside an elaborate 19-line acrostic poem spelling out RISING SUN STOVE POLISH. Measuring approximately 5.75" x 5.25". Unused in exceptional, bright antique condition with clean margins and minimal handling wear. A classic, highly recognized crossover artifact of Victorian advertising and Black Americana ephemera.
