This is an authentic vintage greeting card (c. 1930s-1940s) featuring Black Americana graphic art. The cover reads: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY Why keep it UNDER COVER" with a semi-translucent tissue/vellum overlay obscuring a printed Black caricature face underneath.
When opened, the inside illustration reveals the full Black caricature graphic alongside the sentiment: "CHEER UP Another one WILL HARDLY SHOW". The card measures approximately 4 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches. The back is marked "Made in U.S.A. No. 623" and includes a light pencil signature ("Delores"). Condition is clean and well-preserved with intact overlay paper and sharp colors.
