Nice looking vintage postcard with Black Americana theme. Pictured and shipped in stiff top loader. Condition is as pictured.
This is an authentic vintage unposted (unused) linen-era postcard (c. 1930s-1940s), published by the Asheville Post Card Co. (Asheville, N.C.) and printed by Metrocraft (Everett, Mass.). The illustration features a Black Americana caricature titled "The Darkey Preacher" depicting a minister in a top hat and formal coat holding a Bible, alongside a dialect poem advising his congregation to give up vice and contribute to the collection plate.
The postcard bears serial number D 154 at top left and production number 46089 at bottom right, with the explicit copyright attribution "VERSE COPYRIGHTED BY ASHEVILLE POST CARD CO." The reverse side features a clean, unposted divided back printed in blue ink with a blank stamp box and Metrocraft branding logo. Condition is excellent, uncirculated, and presented in a protective sleeve.
