Product Overview
This is a vintage solid cast brass resting camel trinket dish / vide-poche (c. mid-20th century), featuring an ornate Middle Eastern / Orientalist aesthetic. Unsigned, maker unknown. Marked "British" in impressed text on the back.
The dish is cast in the shape of a seated dromedary camel adorned with an intricate, fringed ceremonial blanket, tasseled saddle canopy, and bridle detailing in high relief. The concave well forms a catchall tray suitable for keys, coins, jewelry, or desk sundries. Measures approximately 6 inches long. Condition is very good vintage with a warm aged brass patina and dark natural oxidation in the deep recesses, highlighting the cast design.
