Product Overview
Original circa 1904-1918 Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) oval-vignette studio portrait of an African American infant, identified on the lower front margin in period ink: "Geneva." The baby is propped comfortably on a velvet studio armchair, dressed in a detailed white lace-trimmed christening gown with matching booties. Reverse bears an upside-down handwritten age notation ("one year") and an authentic AZO stamp box (all four triangles pointing up, dating 1904-1918). Unsigned, maker unknown. Excellent antique condition featuring sharp focus, clean warm sepia tones, crisp edges, and minimal surface wear. A charming, identified example of early 20th-century vernacular African American child portraiture.
