This is an original antique Victorian chromolithograph advertising trade card (c. 1880s-1890s) for A. D. Sharpe Dry Goods and Carpets of Jamestown, New York. It is unsigned; the maker is unknown (marked 468 in the lower right).
The front features a comic color stone-lithograph depicting a Black farmer riding a mule-drawn hay rake / sulky rake cart, holding tight as the stubborn mule skids to a halt while scattering pigs in its path. The lower left is printed with local store promotion: "Compliments of A. D. SHARPE, Dry Goods and Carpets, No. 30 Main Street, Jamestown, N.Y." The reverse side is completely blank card stock.
