Vintage Royal Doulton England large character / Toby jug depicting the infamous 18th-century English highwayman "Dick Turpin" (early version without mask over eyes; black eye mask sits pushed up on his tricorn hat brim). Superbly modeled in glazed ceramic with rich hand-painted detailing, showing Turpin in a gold-trimmed brown tricorn hat, powdered wig, green coat, and a flintlock pistol molded into the handle. Fully backstamped with the standard Royal Doulton lion, crown, and interlocking 'D' maker's mark. Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or crazing, retaining vibrant high-gloss colors throughout.
