Product Overview

Original circa 1910s Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) studio wedding portrait of an African American bride. The subject is captured three-quarters standing in an elaborate full-length bridal gown featuring high lace neck trim, draped veil with a floral wax-flower/orange-blossom crown, and holding a massive bouquet of roses. Reverse features an unmailed divided back with an authentic ARTURA stamp box (dating circa 1908-1924). Unsigned, maker unknown. Excellent antique condition with sharp focus, warm sepia tones, clean unwritten reverse, and only trivial corner wear. An exceptionally scarce, beautiful, and historically important piece of early 20th-century African American wedding portraiture and Black Americana vernacular photography.
