Product Overview

Original circa 1918-1930 Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) studio portrait featuring an African American woman or young woman standing proudly in a traditional sailor dress uniform. The outfit includes a middy blouse with a knotted necktie, banded cuffs, pleated skirt, and lace-up boots, posed beside a draped studio table before a backdrop window scene. Unmailed divided back with an authentic AZO stamp box (two triangles pointing up, two pointing down, dating 1918-1930). Unsigned, maker unknown. Condition is very good vintage with sharp photographic clarity, rich contrast, a clean unwritten reverse, and minor corner tip wear. A rare and compelling piece of early 20th-century African American fashion history and vernacular photography.
