Product Overview
Original circa 1906-1915 Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) studio portrait of a handsome, stylishly dressed African American gentleman. The subject stands poised wearing a wide-brim bowler/fedora hat, high stiff collar with a patterned bow tie, tailored long overcoat, and an ornate pocket watch chain and fob ribbon pinned to the lapel. The reverse features an unmailed divided back with an authentic PMC stamp box (dating circa 1906-1915). Unsigned, maker unknown. Very good antique condition with rich sepia contrast, sharp facial detailing, clean unwritten reverse, and only light natural edge and corner wear. A striking and dignified piece of early 20th-century African American portraiture and Black Americana vernacular photography.
