Product Overview
Original circa 1910s Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) full-length studio portrait of an African American gentleman. The subject poses standing in front of a painted backdrop beside a pedestal with a flower basket, wearing round spectacles, a hat, and a tailored suit with a high collar and lapel pin. Unsigned, maker unknown. The reverse shows evidence of an ARTURA stamp box (dating circa 1908-1924). Condition shows heavy scrapbook removal wear on the back with extensive paper layer loss; the front exhibits edge chips, tack/pin holes at the margins, surface scuffs, and age toning, though the subject's face, glasses, and attire remain clear. A compelling piece of early 20th-century vernacular African American portraiture.
